What is this cybercrime?

  • Cyberbullying is when someone, typically teens, harass others on the internet, particularly on social media sites.
  • Harmful bullying behavior can include posting rumors, threats, sexual remarks, a victims’ personal information, or negative labels (i.e. hate speech).
  • Bullying or harassment can be identified by repeated behavior and an intent to harm.
  • Victims may experience lower self-esteem, increased suicidal ideation, and a variety of negative emotional responses, including being scared, frustrated, angry, and depressed.

Prevention

  • Do not talk to unknown people on social media.
  • Do not respond to messages from unknown people.

Solution in case of incident

  • Report the profile and tell your friends too to do the same.
  • Take screenshots of the profile containing profile link, print them and submit the same to nearest Police Station along with complaint.
